Frogwares is an independent adventure game development studio, having branches in Ukraine, Ireland and France.^[1][2] Its president is Waël Amr.^[3]

It is best known for its ongoing Sherlock Holmes series of adventure computer games starring Sherlock Holmes and Dr. John H Watson, which began in 2002 with Mystery of the Mummy^[3] and has been continued with Sherlock Holmes: Secret of the Silver Earring, Sherlock Holmes: The Awakened, Sherlock Holmes versus Arsène Lupin, and Sherlock Holmes vs. Jack the Ripper.

It has also developed two adventure games based on the works of Jules Verne, the first of which was Journey to the Center of the Earth in 2003 and 80 Days in 2005 (based on Around the World in Eighty Days). Dracula: Origin was released in 2008 and is based on the legend of Dracula.




Frogwares는 우크라이나, 아일랜드, 프랑스등지에 지부를 갖고 있는 개별 어드벤처 게임 개발 스튜디오이며 대표는 Waël Amr다.

해당 스튜디오의 게임중 셜록홈즈와 왓슨박사를 내세운 어드벤처 PC게임 '셜록홈즈'시리즈로 가장 잘 알려져 있으며, 이는 2002년 '미라의 미스테리'부터 그 다음으로는 '셜록홈즈 : 은 귀걸이의 비밀', '셜록홈즈 : 각성', '셜록홈즈 VS 아르센 뤼팽', '셜록홈즈 VS 칼잡이 잭'등으로 이어져오고 있다.

이뿐만 아니라 쥘 베른의 원작을 기반으로 한 '지구 속 여행'과 '80일('80일간의 세계일주'에 기반)'를 각 2003년, 2005년에 출시했으며, 드라큘라에 기반을 둔 '드라큘라 : 기원'편을 2008년도에 출시했다.
